BACKGROUND

Pivotal Scientific Limited are a dynamic experienced consultancy working specifically with research reagent manufacturers – manufacturers of antibodies, proteins, ELISA / Assay kits and tools for molecular biology. Our focus on the research use only sector means that the advice we offer is based on years of experience: the consultants have on average twenty years of experience in their areas of expertise. Catering for such a niche also means that any introduction we make on your behalf to a new potential distributor, supplier or customer is to a person who we have worked with and can vouch for.

With a successful history in the Life science industry Tim Bernard created Pivotal Scientific Limited in 2008 in response to a gap in the market for a Company to offer advice and support for small to medium sized Companies in the Research Reagents sector. Tim has over 30 years’ experience in the life science market and has set up three Companies in that time: Pivotal Scientific Limited, Abcore LLC, and 2BScientific Limited. He was also CEO of the antibody manufacturer Bio-Rad-AbD Serotec (formerly Serotec Limited) which he grew from a £300K turnover to its eventual sale for £20M.

With this wealth of experience Pivotal Scientific Limited has worked with over 80 companies on an on-going basis and each company has reported higher revenues and increased profits during the last four years. Pivotal Scientific Limited has also worked with over 100 companies offering many other services: one of PSL’s main strengths is that we can offer a menu of growth initiatives tailored specifically for your business.

MISSION STATEMENT

Pivotal Scientific Limited is a global consultancy that exists to help companies located worldwide grow their brand and sales in a highly competitive and rapidly changing market. We do this by supporting companies at all stages of the business life cycle by helping to create business plans, facilitating business introductions and giving advice during mergers and acquisitions. Indeed, our hope is to be a “one-stop shop” offering a portfolio of services that biotech companies can pick and choose to suit their growth strategies. Juliette has a wealth of financial experience and heads up the day to day financial activities including; preparation of month end accounts, VAT returns, bank and balance sheet reconciliations, accruals and prepayments, audits and year end statutory accounts
Stevan Hoyle
Stevan HoyleM&A and Strategy
Stevan’s accomplishments include 17 years as a Director in the Vodafone Group. He spent 11 of these years establishing enterprise businesses in the USA and across emerging markets in regions such as Africa, Middle East, India, Asia.
Melinda Higgins

Melinda comes from a design retail background. Having spent several years working for Ikea in the Display and Communications department she decided to swap furniture and tea lights for antibodies and assays.
She uses her creative skills and knowledge to produce fresh materials for both Pivotal Scientific and its Alliance members.d
Richard Atkins
Richard AtkinsHead of Marketing & Sales
Richard comes from a Retail background with over 30 years working within the Retail arena. Richard was part of the project team that implemented a number of cutting edge marketing projects, such as Loyalty Cards, Shop & Go and many other major retail initiatives. More recently Richard has looked after the main Retail accounts at Axicon Auto I.D. Limited, experts in the Barcode quality arena.
Jenny Gillard

Jenny is a 2017 addition to the team! For the past 5 years, she has forged a successful career in both commercial and scientific recruitment in both the UK and New Zealand. Excited by this change in vocation, she will apply her trade-learned consultative skills to support clients and facilitate the growth and success of Pivotal Scientific Limited

After three years spent with Alere Toxicology (now Abbott) within the laboratory results team, Kristina now undertakes marketing activities for Pivotal Scientific and their clients.
Jemma Tilling

Jemma joined Pivotal Scientific Limited in March 2017 having spent 10 years in the Financial arena. In this time, she established her project management skills and harnessed her key administration expertise, which ultimately led to her fulfilling the ever-increasing demands of her roles within the Nationwide Building Society.

Jemma brings a wealth of planning and organisational skills to the Pivotal Scientific Limited office, enabling her to effectively support the CEO – Tim Bernard, as well as the Business Development and Marketing teams.

An experienced researcher and customer-facing technical advisor, with over ten years laboratory experience in academic and small biotechnology laboratories. Qualified with a B.Sc. degree in Biochemistry and also gained an M.Phil from the University of Manchester.
Fan Sha

Fan has several years’ experience in sales & marketing departments in both the pharmaceutical and diagnostic industries. Fan has plenty of experience in organizing and promoting events and has a good understanding of the Chinese Life Science Industry. In general, Fan helps international companies enter the Chinese market and also helps Chinese suppliers expand globally.

As a Chinese member of the Pivotal Scientific team, Fan will offer a complete service for your every step in exploring and entering the Chinese market.
