Our good friends Cloud Clone had asked us if we would like to join them with their 10 years celebratory event, where they were inviting all their domestic and international distributors. We thought this would be a good idea so, the scene was set for a 2-day extravaganza of networking opportunities.
We started to organise the Pivotal Links Asia event back in August 2018, promoting the event for the first time in our Pivotal Scientific newsletter in September 2018. By the end of March 2019, we had 14 confirmed Chinese companies and 16 confirmed International companies attending. Our operations manager, Jemma Tilling, had been working alongside the Cloud Clone team since August to ensure that our delegates had visa’s, transfers, hotel rooms, client meetings and many more individual requests for their trip. She then had to ensure that Cloud Clone had booked the relevant meeting rooms, lunches, dinners, hotel rooms, flights, transfers and various other activities to ensure the Pivotal Links Asia event was going to be a success.
Tim Bernard – CEO, Richard Atkins – Commercial Director and Valeria Milazzo – Head of 2B Scientific Marketing, started our journey to Wuhan, China at 9.00 am on Thursday 11th April arriving at the Primus Hotel in Wuhan on Friday 12th April at 3.00pm. First of all, we met with Zhanli Luo from Cloud Clone to confirm that all of the arrangements were set, we had to confirm the arrangements for dinner for the Sunday and also check the conference room set up that we were using for the event with the hotel management.
We then had dinner with some of the senior Cloud Clone team and selected invited international guests. We met the international distributors for Cloud Clone from Poland, Czech Republic and Russia and were able to discuss many potential business collaborations.
Saturday 13th April started with a show put on by members of the Cloud Clone team. It started with a traditional ‘Fan’ dance by members of the Cloud Clone team and then each senior team member presented Cloud Clone’s strategy moving forward. Both Tim Bernard (Pivotal Scientific Limited) and Andreas Kessel (Antibodies on-line) presented a 10-year celebratory speech.
After lunch we were then taken for a tour of the Cloud Clone facility.
That evening we were treated to a Gala dinner with presentations from various senior members of the Cloud Clone team and entertainment ranging from violinists to singers. This was a great networking opportunity to meet all of Cloud Clone’s domestic and international distributors.
Sunday 14th April was the Pivotal Links Asia 2019 event. This year’s event was structured slightly differently to previous years as we had fixed tables for our Chinese based clients, and we had prepared a schedule for each international client to visit each Chinese company to network and forge potential business opportunities during half hourly slots.
Networking commenced at 9.00 am and concluded at 5pm and this was followed by the Pivotal Scientific networking dinner. Another great opportunity to network even more.
